Get a Ghost Saber and name it Spirit or Phantom. Or Cellophane (it is see-through).
Tallstrider – Butterball.
Any Boar – Porky, Bacon, BBQ, Barbeque, Hotlinks, etc.
A white bear – Sig Quant…

Good names for my pet
Posted by admin to Uncategorizedbest cat for a pet
Posted by admin to UncategorizedAll good answers.
As far as the IMHO, the cat you like the best is the best.
I would say get what you like. I am on my 3rd hunter now, (thinking I have finally got one I wil take to 60). I have Humar again, for the 3rd time. I know the 1.0 cat is fast, but, he looks like just another mountain lion. 1.3 is not that far off from 1.0 lol.
(this rating is for attack speed, not damage). So except for caster interupts, .3 of a second does not matter too mmuch to me.
Humar is poular, however, his graphics to me are way cooler than anything elses. Plus, I see alot of high level hunters with other pets, (ie: they gave up thier Humar/or lower lvl pets for something new), so unless they want to re-level him again…. they will not have him.
He is the only black lion in game, and I have yet to see a 60 Humar… I cannot wait to. Mabey the first 60 Humar I see will be my own. [] Mine has been renamed
Although, I do like the looks/pursuit speed of the Frost Wolfs from AV (lvl 50-51). I am hoping to get the Frost Howler Mount, so having the same big white pet at my side while mounted might be cool…
If anyone has this combo, pls post a screen shot for me! Of course Humar will be in his stable lounging, lol.-Too many Alts to list….

Last time I checked BT is the fastest attack speed on a cat. I have humar which 1.3, much easier to grab for the under 40 crowd. There’s a website or two that lists the attack speeds. Petopia or some such.-If you don’t want my peaches, don’t shake my tree.King B’s got nothing anymore. Just a nice skin that matches NE mounts (which is kinda cool)
BT has 1.0 atk speed. Not many pets that got that.thanks for the reply. i was thinking broken tooth would be my next adventure once i hit that lvl. what about that one in SV? King B? is broken better then he?Broken Tooth.
Level 37 rare mountain lion in Badlands.I have humar, and from what i read, he is one of the best in game to have. i was just wondering what everyone thought and which cat would they consider the best in wow.
Pets better at getting/holding aggro
Posted by admin to UncategorizedGrowl is growl regardless of the pet. After that, it comes down to extra abilities like listed above and dps. I’d imagine, all things equal, a cat would hold aggro better than a bear on a single mob.-Hunter –
Priest – a boar!
JK, but a boar is a good pet.
Some pets are better at holding agro.
Boar’s charge helps a little because charge gives them extra AP on their next attack (I think it’s AP).
Carrion birds, owls and bats, get screech, an area attack/debuff that seems to help them hold agro very well. It is area, so be careful.
Gorillas get an area attack, but it seems not to have the special added agro thign that screech has – just does more damage…
…and more damage = better agro-holding.
Wolf’s furious howl might help them a little in agro holding (it’s a party buff that hits you, the pet, everyone in party).
Growl is your pet’s main agro-holding tool. The target resisting a growl is the main reason for pet losing wondering if the different pets have different inherent aggro attributes making them better/worse tanks than others. Looking over Petopia, they grouped the defensive pets according to armor, health, and lack of DPS, offensive pets by DPS, health and lack of armor and combo bets as a little bit of all. But I’m just curious if a bear (for example) gains and holds aggro more effectively than a same level cat? Both can know growl, of course, but wouldn’t the cat’s higher DPS allow me to do more damage without drawing the mob?

From a MM hunter, something that wish for next Xpac
Posted by admin to UncategorizedHello there guys. I am a MM hunter. Love it. I have some good piece of gear, i love to be a DPS/CC (maxed traps). I just want to say i wish for the next xpac to get Aimshot back as it was some time ago… plz don’t let is reset the auto shot timer PLZ!!! I BEG YOU!!!
If that can’t be posible, at least reduce the casting time, since low delay weapons like 1.5 to 1.8 would not use Aimshot, all know the maths:
Auto shot -> steady shot -> Auto shot -> steady shot
Total time: 3,6 sec
VS
Aimshot
Total time 3,5
in the same amount of time. For me, this is wrong. For a huge delay weapon 2.8-3
Autoshot -> steady shot -> plus 5 sec on 1 already casting autoshot
total time 3,5 sec
VS
Aimshot
Total time 3,5
So, if we want to use this aimshot back, please do something, increase the damage, the chance of critical, reduce the casting time or modify it depending of weapon speed. And please… don’t let it reset autoshot. And if that ould make it OP, well, increase the CD of it.
thank you.
note: I use Aimshot, on starting firghts, with missdirect, aslo en PVP. But i would like to use it more often, not just steady/arcane shots rotations. Would like to see aimshot on it-WoW

70 HunterYup, properly spec’d and played, hunters are awsome cc.
Grats on realizing your potential.I had been BM specced for quite some time, and I do like the spec. Recently I’ve decided to increase my instance activity which meant spending a lot more time on crowd control. The BM spec isn’t the greatest for trapping, but I did notice, in my opinion, it’s the best spec to learn trapping. Traps must be timed very well to be effective, and LOS issues must be overcome when pulling caster mobs.
So I used this spec to teach myself the hard way. If I did mess up, I always had a pet I could offtank with (at least in normal non-heroic instances).
Today I just switched over to MM/Surv and the instances were a cake walk. Of course my trap cooldowns were shorter, and I could pull with silencing shot. But it got to the point where I was trapping so efficiently that my mob was being the last one killed.
I never had an ingrained talent at being an uber hunter. I’ve always had to work at it. But it’s an awesome feeling when a group feels comfortable enough with you to know that you have the situation under control and they’ll take down a sheeped mob, or a sapped mob, before they go after yours.
This isn’t a pitch to declare one spec is better than another. It’s just something I noticed and I thought I would share with others.

Ravager
Posted by admin to UncategorizedScorpid poison was nerfed to be about as damaging as a dull butterknife in the last major patch. Sory to break it to ya, I loved em too.
At this time, as I am sure you’ve read on petopia, the ravager is the most single target damage you can get on a pet. You will sacrifice the high armor but in instance situations it’s kinda irrelevent in my oppinion. Damage is what gets the job done! -Caldone: “KDenelor is not dumb” – Quite possibly the nicest thing ever said about me…
A little advise
Posted by admin to UncategorizedBah! Trying to check out your stats and such but the Armory is slow beyond all measure.Yeah I thought so, thanks.
I wanted to use my gear as an example of some gear for some other survival hunters in my guild who are just starting to gear up so I wanted to be sure everything was fine.
Edit: I’d also like to say thanks to all the people on this board, I have been a lurker here for a long time and I learned much, if not all of what I know from reading the tips you guys have given out. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Edited, Nov 21st 2007 7:42pm by RothisJust took a real quick look at your stats (Armory is damn slow, US even worse), and I have to say you are more than ready. You will be blowing most other starting raiders out of the water. -Friar Bijou wrote:ITT: NorthAI is a L?rd Kaolian wrote:We get some batsht insane people here on occasion.I got this game back in January after I quit FFXI and a friend convinced me to try wow. I took my time leveling to 70 as MM spec and when I hit 70 I decided to try SV. It took me a few months to get gear, but thanks to the Pre Raid Gear, tips and tricks thread, I knew what gear to go after. I finally got all the gear that I thought I would need to start Kara. I have a cookie cutter raid build, other than me taking out a point from improved AotH and putting it into scatter shot, because I didn’t feel comfortable trapping without it.
I would appreciate any constructive criticism on my gear and build, thanks in advance!

Blizzard?? Pet Skin Choices
Posted by admin to UncategorizedI don’t dislike the turtle skins but the only type I ever consider as a pet are the white ones found on Shimmering Flats (among other places). The others just don’t specifically appeal to me. I’ve stayed away from them at higher levels because of how high their backs are. So, maybe some flatter ones would be nice.
I’ve never really liked worg skins – any of them. They just look so goofy and top-heavy. And their fangs remind me of monster drawings that ten year olds do, trying to make a beast scary or mean by giving them giant teeth that don’t fit the mouth and would keep them from ever being able to close their mouths or chew.
Bears… The fat ass, slack-jawed grumpy pants of Azeroth. Nuff said.
Dragonhawks just look like festive Chinese kites to me, rather than an actual animal. Why not just call them Decrepit Stick-Wings?

Mazra wrote:Words like ‘thee’ and ‘thou’. Sometimes you miss them. Now it’s all “Hell naw, I ain’t seen nuttin’ mayn.”
I find Blizzard?? choices for pet skins interesting. For example, I don?? have a snake pet because I don?? care for the graphic. But if Blizzard allowed us to tame shadow serpents I might well take a snake pet for one of my hunters. I like those graphics.
Another example is turtle pets. I like turtles in real life. But I don?? like how they look in game. But if we could have turtle pets that look like the turtle mount I?? head out as soon as possible to tame one.
Anyone else have a pet selection they would go for if Blizzard changed the graphic?

Forget Marks, I’m going back to BM!
Posted by admin to UncategorizedWell… it seems to me like you’re looking at a PvE perspective.
MM has some good PvP utility from what I’ve seen, but honestly, BM’s Beast Within pretty much puts it on par with the MS-like Aimed Shot and the awesome magic-slayer, Silencing Shot.
As for how often you’d get to stand still for 3 seconds, I’d argue it’s pretty damn often in AV, judging by how many times it has hit me!-Naoki – level 66 Mage on Skywall
Aureliano the Insane – level 80 Druid on Sen’Jin
Junkboxing – level 80 Rogue on Sen’Jin
Noaki – level 58 Warlock on Sen’JinWell, after messing about with my spec, I am really not overly impressed with the MM build. The top tier talent for MM, Silencing shot really does not blow me away as an uber-talent when compared to how good Beast Within is. I would personally rather have my 3 minute CD “instant death” button, than a shot that I use very sparingly.
I was impressed by the MM aimed shot damage, but even after a huge aimed crit, I would always pull aggro off my pet and have the pain in the ass of having to run and trap. For PvP, aimed shot is good, but how often does your opponent let you sit there for 3 seconds lining up your shot? -Overlord Theophany wrote wrote:
Honestly, yes, shamans need some work in PvP. A limited CC, a snare break for the bring shamans back in line with other classes, but honestly, shamans are already a pretty powerful class in PvP. I don’t want this to turn into another flame thread with you whining at me, so I’ll leave it there.
Stalker’s Chain Battlegear
Posted by admin to UncategorizedYes. They removed it from our PVP honor vendor’s and then put it up 1 piece per faction for each of the instance areas.
Gloves come from Honor Hold or Thrallamar.
Helm comes from Lower City.
Legs come from Centurion Expedition.
Chest comes from Keepers of Time.
Shoulders come from the Sha’tar.
You have to be honored with them to purchase these items for gold.
EDIT I think they figured out that no one would waste honor on them when the gladiator stuff is better. Also I think it is to help the new 70′s that don’t haev gladiator gear.
It’s like a here you go, you won’t die quite as quickly in BGs now.

It is very easy to get and fairly cheap….
Please discuss.
