I don’t like Mut, but when I gave it a run (from 70 -71), I had a green quest dagger in my off hand, and a blue quest dagger (from Borean Tundra) in the main hand – no epix here … and if I lost 10% hp over theourse of 10-15 fights, it was a lot. YOu should not be taking any hits (or at the very most, 1 per fight) as Mut. The standard rotation ofS > Mut > Evis > Mut will generally kill the mob, and that’s beforeS wears off – most of the time, he’s dead before he know it. If you’re taking 50% damage per fight as Mut, you’re doing something horribly wrong … seriously. Hk, even asombat, you should be able to keep your target lked down while you kill them viaS and KS – it may not be as bursty as Mut, but you have utility to handle multi mobs if need be. You should NOT be taking that mh damage (unless, ofourse, you’re not using your skills as a rogue and you’re running in, fighting the mobs toe-to-toe, ignoring things like stuns, finishers, poisons, e (you DO have poisons on your weapons, don’t you ??) Here’s my adve, start taking the adve of those who’ve responded to yourall for help. If you’re going to ignore everyone, then you’re going to stay where you are.

Personally I leveled as pvp mut and had very little down time sie the burst was normally enough to kill a mob without it being able to attk. Besides that, its what everybody else has said, use yourc’s to make sure you’re not tanking.

Once you sign up and add your character, your stats and items will automatically be displayed for others to view, then just select what kind of team you are looking for 2v2, 3v3, and/or 5v5 and you will placed on the LFG list on your server. It just takes one click. If you already have a partial team, you can also register a team and post it in our LFM section. The website has been designed to be very easy to use and we are very excited to release it to the entire North American WoW community. This must be the time of year for zany social theories about videogames. First, we heard that World of Warcraft might quality as being a religion. Then we heard that it might make for better citizens. And now, in an essay over at Gamasutra on the event of Charles Darwin’s birthday, Noah Falstein suggests that games like World of Warcraft are actually models for evolution — as we level up with experience points, our characters get stronger and more evolved, and we feel comfortable with that because that’s exactly what we see happening in the world around us.
Technically, of course, you can’t model Darwin’s theory of evolution with a single character — evolution isn’t about one individual getting better, it’s about a process of natural selection in a species over a period of time. To really model evolution, you’d have to play hundreds of alts, and quit them each time you ran into a problem, leaving you with just a few characters that worked really well. Wait — maybe some of you are already doing that.
But Falstein makes good points in saying that certain elements of what Darwin described as evolution have shown up in game design as well — the idea of specialization for certain character classes, tribal and national allegiances, and even the idea of memes (which are certainly widespread in WoW — anyone ever heard of Chuck Norris or Leroy Jenkins?) are all drawn from Darwin’s thinking and definitely embodied in the game we play.

Over the past week WoW Insider has received an increasing number of reports of phishing emails. Outside of gold farmers and those obsessive guys at Nihilum, not very many people get the opportunity to play a game like World of Warcraft professionally. For a select few, however, there’s the annual Arena Tournament — a six-week-long series of global player-versus-player events that culminate in a cash purse totaling over $200,000. Blizzard announced this morning that sign-ups for the 2009 Arena Tournament will be kicking off next Tuesday, February 17, and for the one-time entry fee of $20, players with existing World of Warcraft accounts can create up to three level 80 characters on the special Arena qualification servers.
What’s the incentive — apart from the aforementioned fat stack of prize money — to drop 20 bones on this competition? Participants have the chance to earn the in-game title of Vanquisher for their characters on regular servers, as well as the exclusive armored murloc pet pictured above. It’s also a great way for PVP-obsessed gamers to test their skills against one another on a level playing field, as everyone on the Arena servers is level 80, and they all have access to the same pool of predetermined gear sets.
Does the World of Warcraft Arena Tournament sound like a worthwhile investment to you, 1UP readers? Here’s a bit of news that some players might enjoy — tipster Falrinn noted that Wintergrasp now has a global timer that lets players know when the next battle for the zone is slated to occur. This should eliminate quite a bit of clutter on the trade channels where players usually ask, “when is the next WG? ” The timer is accessible through the world map, where the countdown updates live in increments of five seconds. On live servers, the only way to find out when the next battle occurs is to talk to your respective Wintergrasp Battle-Mages or using AddOns which all still need data from the zone.
It was, to say the least, rather inconvenient. The change also comes with a few minor changes, such as the wall icons on the maps — they look flimsier. Blizzard also saw fit to change the icon for Essence of Wintergrasp again, making it look more like a tower instead of a trophy on a pedestal. The timer feature is a welcome one, although in the PTR it currently doesn’t work when not in Northrend. The only thing that would be better than that would be a web-accessible timer that tells you when the next game is on your server…
